tváṃ bʰágo nṛpate vásva īśiṣe tváṃ pāyúrdáme yásté'vidʰat || 7||

tvā́ṃ rātiṣā́co adʰvaréṣu saścire tvé devā́ havíradantyā́hutam || 13||

4.  [The chants are] making stronger replenishing for thee fervor
    [they are] placing the enhancing thunderbolt into arms.
    Thou are reinforcing [us], O Indra! Becoming stronger,
    using the sun, thou can subdue for us demonic tribes.

6.  So now I shall extol thy, O Indra, great ancient [deeds],
    and we shall extol the recent deeds.
    I shall extol him who is desiring the thunderbold in his arms,
    I shall extol two tawny banners of the sun.

7.  Thy, O Indra, two tawny ones, employing a rush of vigour,
    made oozing with ghee sound;
    all at once the Earth extended herself,
    the knotty one, about to race, set at rest.

dūré pāré vā́ṇīṃ vardʰáyanta índreṣitāṃ dʰamániṃ papratʰanní || 8||

8.  Let the knotty one be settled, [though] present² [in the mind];
    together with mothers, he, eagerly desiring, called out.
    Making the melody stronger at the farthest end,
    they have spread within animated by Indra bellowing (?).

9.  Indra lashed at constricting the mighty stream³,
    possessing the power to configure [one's cognition] Vṛtra;
    both the Earth and the Heaven trembled being afraid
    of bellowing bull, of his thunderbolt.

ní māyíno dānavásya māyā́ ápādayatpapivā́nsutásya || 10||

10. The thunderbolt of him, of the bull, roared again and again
    so that a human would burn down inhuman.
    Drinking extracted [Soma], he caused the powers to shape [mental and physiological processes] 
    of him who is bestowing and [thus] possesses the power to configure [one's cognition] to recede.

11. Just drink, drink Soma, O agent of change Indra!
    Let the extracted possessing exhilaration [drops] inflame thee!
    Those [drops] that nourish thy two cavities --- let them make thee stronger!
    Thus satiating extracted [Soma drops] have helped Indra.

12. We, inspired, have arisen in thee, O Indra,
    [so that] we, seeking with what is fitting, can place a vision within [thy] reach!
    Let us, [who are] seeking a favour, obtain competency,
    [so that] every day we could become equal to receive thy riches!

13. We can be those who [are] with thy, O Indra, side-effects;
    seeking favours, making invigorating [libations] stronger,
    let us be satisfied [only] with the most fiery one⁴;
    Thou grant us the gift rich in heroes.

14. Thou grant an abode, thou grant us amity,
    thou grant us, O Indra, a troop having Marut-s' trait.
    Vital airs which are acting in harmony and procuring joy
    absorb the first draught as a blueprint.

15. Just accept [ye] now [those] in which [he is] exalting!
    He shall be satiated. Drink Soma steadily, O Indra!
    In battles thou easily made us stronger, O carrying across one!
    Together with extensive hymns of illumination [thou made stronger] the Heaven.

16. Just the mighty ones which still can, by means of recited verses,
    procure thy, O carrying across one, benevolence,
    strewing providing a stall sacrificial grass,
    they approach --- only helped by thee, O Indra --- the rush of vigour.

17. Just in ferocious ones, O agent of change, [do thou,] procuring joy,
    drink Soma during ``three-howls'', O Indra!
    Blowing into beard⁵, gratifying,
    using two tawny ones, approach the drinking of extracted [Soma]!

18. Effect that impulse to change, O agent of change, with which thou pierced Vṛtra --- 
    the permissive descendant of the spider.
    Thou uncovered the light for that [abode] that is conducting upwards;
    on the left side [of the body] the impulse to suffer want subsided, O Indra!

19. May we, who with thy side-effects are overcoming all adversaries, 
    [and] with [the abode] that is conducting upwards [are overcoming] impulses to suffer want, obtain [that light]!
    [It was] for our sake that thou made the creative energy that can assume any form
    to submit to Trita of [this] fellowship.

20. [Creative energy] of this effusing possessing exhilaration [Soma] [become] Trita's.
    Becoming stronger, he overthrew Arbuda;
    he caused [it] to turn like the Sun its wheel.
    Accompanied by aṅgiras-es Indra shall pierce the enclosure.

21. Now, may thy, O Indra, bringing satisfaction liberality
    yield for the invoker to his heart's content [that energy]!
    Exert thyself for hymn singers' sake! May not [this] fortune pass us by
    so we, very manly, can address a knowledge-sharing session!

2.  Who going astray Earth made firm
    who calmed agitated knotty ones
    who has attuned the middle region to be broader
    who propped the Heaven --- he, O people, is Indra.

yó áśmanorantáragníṃ jajā́na saṃvṛ́ksamátsu sá janāsa índraḥ || 3||

3.  Who, having slayed the snake, released seven rivers,
    who by taking off [the cover] drove up the cows of the cavern,
    who created fire inside two rocks,
    absorbing in clashes --- he, O people, is Indra.



yénemā́ víśvā cyávanā kṛtā́ni yó dā́saṃ várṇamádʰaraṃ gúhā́kaḥ |
śvagʰnī́va yó jigīvā́m̐ lakṣámā́dadaryáḥ puṣṭā́ni sá janāsa índraḥ || 4||



4.  yasr3msi ayamr3npn viśvajnpn cyavanannpn kṛtajnpn  
    yasr3msn dāsajmsa varṇanmsa adʰarajmsa guhānfsl akarvp·Aa3s«√kṛ |
    śvagʰninnmsn ivac yasr3msn jigīvaṅstp·Imsn«√ji lakṣanmsa ādatvp·Aa3s«ā~√dā  
    arijmsg puṣtannpa sasr3msn janajmpv indraNmsn 



4.  By whom all these disturbances [are] made,
    who made the savage character [of one's self] tending downwards into a hidingplace
    who, like a gambler with a winning throw of dice¹, having surpassed the mark,
    took hold of acquisitions of him who tends upwards,² --- he, O people, is Indra.



yáṃ smā pṛcʰánti kúha séti gʰorámutémāhurnaíṣó astī́tyenam |
só aryáḥ puṣṭī́rvíja ivā́ mināti śrádasmai dʰatta sá janāsa índraḥ || 5||

5.  They inquire about him, frightful, ``Where [is] he?''
    And say about such him ``This one does not exist''.
    He curtails flourishing of him who tends upwards,³ as darting movements [do]. Do trust him --- he, O people, is Indra.



yó radʰrásya coditā́ yáḥ kṛśásya yó brahmáṇo nā́dʰamānasya kīréḥ |
yuktágrāvṇo yó'vitā́ suśipráḥ sutásomasya sá janāsa índraḥ || 6||

6.  Who is inciter of a meek [man], who of a feeble one,
    who of a learned priest, of asking-for-help praiser,
    who of him, who is joined by a singer, is helper.
    Selective⁴ of him who extracted Soma --- he, O people, is Indra.



yásyā́śvāsaḥ pradíśi yásya gā́vo yásya grā́mā yásya víśve rátʰāsaḥ |
yáḥ sū́ryaṃ yá uṣásaṃ jajā́na yó apā́ṃ netā́ sá janāsa índraḥ || 7||

7.  Under whose direction [are] horses, [under] whose [direction are] oxen,
    [under] whose [direction are] troops, [under] whose [direction are] all chariots,
    who begot the Sun and the Dawn,
    who is a guide of waters --- he, O people, is Indra.



yáṃ krándasī saṃyatī́ vihváyete páré'vara ubʰáyā amítrāḥ |
samānáṃ cidrátʰamātastʰivā́ṃsā nā́nā havete sá janāsa índraḥ || 8||

8.  Whom two clashing battle-cries vie in calling ---
    [whom] those hostile [to each other vie in calling], superior and inferior ones on both sides --- 
    upon [whom] even two men who mounted the same chariot call separately --- he, O people, is Indra.



yásmānná ṛté vijáyante jánāso yáṃ yúdʰyamānā ávase hávante |
yó víśvasya pratimā́naṃ babʰū́va yó acyutacyútsá janāsa índraḥ || 9||

9.  Without whom people are unlikely to conquer 
    whom they, who are fighting, invoke to help
    who has became a model for everyone
    who is causing to fall what is unshakable --- he, O people, is Indra.

yáḥ śárdʰate nā́nudádāti śṛdʰyā́ṃ yó dásyorhantā́ sá janāsa índraḥ || 10||

10. Who strikes with an arrow those numerous ones
    who, [while] not being observed, are causing great evil;
    who does not allow defiance to a defiant one,
    who is a slayer of an impulse to suffer want --- he, O people, is Indra.



yáḥ śámbaraṃ párvateṣu kṣiyántaṃ catvāriṃśyā́ṃ śarádyanvávindat |
ojāyámānaṃ yó áhiṃ jagʰā́na dā́nuṃ śáyānaṃ sá janāsa índraḥ || 11||

    residing in the mountains Śambara;
    who slayed exhibiting vigour snake,

yó rauhiṇámáspʰuradvájrabāhurdyā́māróhantaṃ sá janāsa índraḥ || 12||

12. Who, having seven reins, appearing as a bull, having the power to control,
    sent off the seven rivers to flow,
    who, thunderbolt-in-arms, lashed at
    ascending the Heaven son of Rohiṇī --- he, O people, is Indra.



dyā́vā cidasmai pṛtʰivī́ namete śúṣmāccidasya párvatā bʰayante |
yáḥ somapā́ nicitó vájrabāhuryó vájrahastaḥ sá janāsa índraḥ || 13||

    knotty ones become afraid of just his fervor;
    who, thunderbolt-in-hands, is beheld as drinking Soma,
    who is holding thunderbolt in hand --- he, O people, is Indra.

    whose satisfaction [is] this --- he, O people, is Indra.

    [we,] very manly, can address a knowledge-sharing session!

1.  Fixed order is the genitrix. From her the waters [flow].
    Arisen quickly, he¹ took possession of [those waters] in which he becomes stronger.
    Then, the to-be-beaten [herb] became a swelling [libation];
    the juice of the stalk [thus becomes] ambrosia first --- that [is] to be praised.

3.  One comments what he offers; at that time another,
    setting up forms, having that as [his] act, moves and moves;
    all diversions of [that] one he strives to bring to the fore.

    Who removed [Vṛtra] from the path of the streams, O snake-slayer,
    him --- thee --- with hymns of praise as if with waves, [thee,] possessing the rush of vigour deva,
    deva-s begot; such thou are to be praised.

    thou milked from a damp [stalk = aṃśu] mouth-drying rich in honey [juice⁶];
    Such thou have established in Vivasvat a receptacle of treasure,
    thou are the only master of everyone --- such thou are to be praised.

7.  Thou, who at distribution [of war spoils] made, per custom,
    [women] in menstruation and those bearing [children], to be separated as streams;
    who caused unequaled flashes from the Heaven,
    who, [being like] wide space, [effected] picks on both sides --- such thou are to be praised.



yó nārmaráṃ sahávasuṃ níhantave pṛkṣā́ya ca dāsáveśāya cā́vahaḥ |

9.  Thou, who a hundred [times] bound at the same time ten [men]
    while [being] in confidence of one when thou favoured the whip. 
    In order to deceive, thou confined into what lacks ropes the impulses to suffer want;
    thou became very mindful --- such thou are to be praised.

10. After all, obstacles bestow this one's manly strength,
    for this one, for the effective one, they set the prize.
    Thou propped six expansions, five appearances;
    [being] extreme, thou became encompassing --- such thou are to be praised.

    effected all [deeds] that such thou have accomplished --- thou are to be praised.

    fill liberal Indra with just Soma drops.
    I experienced this one; this for me is settled --- 
    him, who is becoming more and more wishing to give, he, who is worthy of worship, [always] notices.

    do make ready thy abundant advantageous [power]
    O Indra, that is manifold, so that day-after-day thou would be like an auditory impression,
    so we, very manly, can address a knowledge-sharing session!

3.  Like a dwelling from the front [modulates light and sound from outside], he, using conceptions, has modulated [flowing waters],
    using thunderbolt he split open the apertures of [inner] flowing waters
    [that] he at will released [to flow] along long-stretching pathways;
    Indra has performed these [deeds] in Soma's intoxication.

5.  He stopped tumultuous flooding [stream] from going,
    he made those who were not fond of bathing [in it] to successfully get over it;
    They, having emerged from the water, advanced towards the treasure.

    with the thunderbolt he broke into pieces the cart of the Dawn

    even he who was carrying a stick has found some gold.

    [using them] one extracts resembling bull Soma.

    O Indra, become satisfied with resembling bull Soma.

    he has, through the power to increase in size, assumed in the head a form of a [red?] glow.

    he made the activity of waters to be tending downwards;
    he made the Earth to maintain nourishing of all [places of existence];
    he, through the power to frame [perception], supported the Heaven from falling off.

    give a share of thyself with which thou would elate [us].

1.  A fresh chariot of four generations, having three thongs [and] seven reins
    is to be harnessed at daybreak;

    through desires and mental gestures it should have became [a chariot] of eagerness.



sā́smā áraṃ pratʰamáṃ sá dvitī́yamutó tṛtī́yaṃ mánuṣaḥ sá hótā |

2.  He is fit for this one for the first time, for the second time
    and for the third time --- he is man's envoker;
    so that others beget an embryo of another [female]
    he, a bull of noble origin, associates himself with others.

mó ṣú tvā́mátra bahávo hí víprā ní rīramanyájamānāso anyé || 3||

4.  O Indra, approach together with two tawny ones,
    with four, with six, being summoned, 
    with eight, with ten, a drink of Soma!
    May this extracted [Soma] not cause contempt, O one of a good fighting spirit!

    with a hundred tawny ones, [thou], being conveyed [here],
    because for thee, O Indra, this Soma is poured out
    among Śunahotra-s for thee, for an exhilaration.

2.  Becoming inflamed from the honey of this [herb], thunderbolt in hand,
    Indra shall hew into pieces surrounded by flooding waters snake
    so that delightful effects of flowing waters would set out
    like birds towards their nest.

3.  He, causing joy Indra, snake-slayer,
    who caused flooding waters to arise towards the sea,
    who caused the sun to emerge, who found the cows---
    during the night he shall straighten out enticements for [coming] days.



só apratī́ni mánave purū́ṇī́ndro dāśaddāśúṣe hánti vṛtrám |
sadyó yó nṛ́bʰyo atasā́yyo bʰū́tpaspṛdʰānébʰyaḥ sū́ryasya sātaú || 4||

4.  He, Indra, shall grant to an intelligent man, irresistible abundant [enticements],
    [because] for a worshiper he strikes [down] Vṛtra,
    [he,] who in a day should have become unfading for men
    that have struggled to win the sun¹.



sá sunvatá índraḥ sū́ryamā́ devó riṇaṅmártyāya stavā́n |
ā́ yádrayíṃ guhádavadyamasmai bʰáradáṃśaṃ naítaśo daśasyán || 5||

5.  He, thundering deva, shall release the sun
    for a pressing out [Soma] mortal
    when the flickering one, rendering a service, shall bring to him
    hiding-what-is-shameful treasure --- as a share [of spoils].



sá randʰayatsadívaḥ sā́ratʰaye śúṣṇamaśúṣaṃ kúyavaṃ kútsāya |
dívodāsāya navatíṃ ca návéndraḥ púro vyaìracʰámbarasya || 6||

    śuṣṇaNmsa aśuṣajmsa kuyavajmsa kutsaNmsd |

6.  In a day he made unabating, causing lack of barley Śuṣṇa
    to succumb to charioteer Kutsa;
    For Divodāsa Indra desolated
    ninety nine strongholds of Śambara.

    we, at least fast employing the rush of vigour,
    can attain that heptade, [we,] striving for it,
    so that thou bend the destructive weapon of a profane scornful one.

brahmaṇyánta indra te návīya íṣamū́rjaṃ sukṣitíṃ sumnámaśyuḥ || 8||

    [they,] creating sacred formulas, [fashioned], O Indra, for thee [this] new [manic idea];
    They attained refreshing drink, strength, good refuge, benevolence.

    and him who is ripening [it] and him who is praising [him].

5.  He, satisfied with phrases of aṅgiras-es,
    Indra, endeavoring to obtain an unimpeded way, made formulations efficient.
    Obscuring dawn with the sun, thundering,
    he should have pierced previous [abodes] of even the voracious one.



sá ha śrutá índro nā́ma devá ūrdʰvó bʰuvanmánuṣe dasmátamaḥ |
áva priyámarśasānásya sāhvā́ñcʰíro bʰaraddāsásya svadʰā́vān || 6||

6.  Then he, deva famed as Indra by name, rising,
    shall become for a man accomplishing most wonderful deeds.
    He, having endured the favourite [weapon] of seeking-to-harm one,

    extensive Indra, making a sacrifice good, shall beget dawn's sva`r.

3.  Since he [whom the genitrix revealed] has remained elevated, at the intermediate space,
    therefore he has brought forth a frustration to Vṛtra.
    Indra, having the sharp weapon, defeated the enemy
    since he, wearing fog, rushed at him.

    which [thus made] me extracting [him] together with cows --- he came again.

kumāráścitpitáraṃ vándamānaṃ práti nānāma rudropayántam |

1.  Marut-s whose vigour is defying, enveloping streams,
    are intimidating like wild beasts, shining with powers to control.
    Like blazing fires having a direct impact,
    they, kindling a endeavouring [youth], uncovered the cows¹.



dyā́vo ná stṛ́bʰiścitayanta kʰādíno vyàbʰríyā ná dyutayanta vṛṣṭáyaḥ |
rudró yádvo maruto rukmavakṣaso vṛ́ṣā́jani pṛ́śnyāḥ śukrá ū́dʰani || 2||

2.  They, in studded leather plates, attract attention like starry heavens;
    they flashed forth like coming from clouds arcs of rainbow
    when bull Rudra was born in the resplendent udder of Pṛśni
    for you, O having shining [plates] on [your] breasts Marut-s!



ukṣánte áśvām̐ átyām̐ ivājíṣu nadásya kárṇaisturayanta āśúbʰiḥ |
híraṇyaśiprā maruto dávidʰvataḥ pṛkṣáṃ yātʰa pṛ́ṣatībʰiḥ samanyavaḥ || 3||

3.  They sprinkle horses like coursers [are] during races --- with reed's ``ears'';
    they make themselves press forward with the speeding [horses].
    Having golden lips, O Marut-s, agitating again and again,
    you, O impassioned ones, journey by means of dappled mares to satiation.



pṛkṣé tā́ víśvā bʰúvanā vavakṣire mitrā́ya vā sádamā́ jīrádānavaḥ |
pṛ́ṣadaśvāso anavabʰrárādʰasa ṛjipyā́so ná vayúneṣu dʰūrṣádaḥ || 4||

4.  To satiate, they, [the dappled mares,] nourish all these facets of life;
    quick to bestow, [come] here at any time to be [our] patrons!
    Having dappled horses, [they who] give satisfaction that does not fade,
    they who are guiding chariots [are] as if made to go straight midst enticements.

5.  With inflaming, yielding milk, having full udder ones²,
    come, having gleaming spears, here by unveiled ways
    like bar-headed geese to [their] nests
    for the exhilaration of the honey, O impassioned Marut-s!

6.  Come to our sacred formulations, pressings [of Soma],
    O impassioned Marut-s, like men's blessing!
    Cause the milch-cow to swell like a mare --- in the udder,
    effect for an invoker a visualization adorned with the rush of vigour.

íṣaṃ stotṛ́bʰyo vṛjáneṣu kāráve saníṃ medʰā́máriṣṭaṃ duṣṭáraṃ sáhaḥ || 7||

7.  Him you shall give to us, O Marut-s, who possesses the rush of vigour, [who is] on the chariot,
    [and] the sacred formulation that achieves its purpose, that day-after-day is making [us] to attend;
    [give] a libation to singers of hymns in sacrificial enclosures, [and] to [this] singer [of eulogies], 
    [give] a reward --- the strength of resolve, [and] secure, difficult to overcome, overwhelming strength.



yádyuñjáte marúto rukmávakṣasó'śvānrátʰeṣu bʰága ā́ sudā́navaḥ |
dʰenúrná śíśve svásareṣu pinvate jánāya rātáhaviṣe mahī́míṣam || 8||

8.  When lucky³ Marut-s, having shining [plates] on [their] breasts,
    yoke horses to chariots, they, generous,
    for a person who willingly presents offerings, [cause to swell] a potent libation
    like a milch-cow in stalls causes to swell [her udder] for a calf.

vartáyata tápuṣā cakríyābʰí támáva rudrā aśáso hantanā vádʰaḥ || 9||

9.  Which mortal deceiver has put us in the presence of that which tears, 
    O beneficent ones, cause the burning wheel⁴ to turn against him,
    guards [us] against [that] injury,
    fend off, O Rudra-s, the destructive weapon of him who does not recite!



citráṃ tádvo maruto yā́ma cekite pṛ́śnyā yádū́dʰarápyāpáyo duhúḥ |
yádvā nidé návamānasya rudriyāstritáṃ járāya juratā́madābʰyāḥ || 10||

10. In many ways that procession of yours, O Marut-s, keeps piling up:
    when friends milked the udder of Pṛṣṇi,
    or when [it happens] to censure him who praises himself, O agreeable to Rudra ones,
    [or when it happens] to wear out the third one⁵ of those who are getting old, O free from deceit ones!



tā́nvo mahó marúta evayā́vno víṣṇoreṣásya prabʰṛtʰé havāmahe |
híraṇyavarṇānkakuhā́nyatásruco brahmaṇyántaḥ śáṃsyaṃ rā́dʰa īmahe || 11||

11. We call upon such you, mighty quickly moving Marut-s,
    while bringing forward hastening Viṣṇu ---
    we, raising sacrificial ladle, uttering sacred formula, approach
    [you,] golden-in-appearance, prominent, [as] to-be-repeated accomplishment of [our] wishes.

uṣā́ ná rāmī́raruṇaíráporṇute mahó jyótiṣā śucatā́ góarṇasā || 12||

12. They, the foremost daśagva-s⁶., conducted a sacrifice ---
    may they impel us at first lights of dawn,
    like the dawn --- quickly, with a glowing light, with a flood of cows⁷ ---
    [that] hides spots of darkness⁸ by means of giving a chance to move upwards ones⁹.

13. They, Rudra-s, have augmented themselves in seats of ṛta 
    with shakes as if with giving-chance-to-rise-upwards body-paints.
    Ejaculating internally together with Soma¹⁰, through firmness,
    they assumed shimmering intricate appearance.



tā́m̐ iyānó máhi várūtʰamūtáya úpa gʰédenā́ námasā gṛṇīmasi |
tritó ná yā́npáñca hótṝnabʰíṣṭaya āvavártadávarāñcakríyā́vase || 14||

14. [He who is] asking these for an extensive shelter as a favor
    (we certainly approach [them] in such case with praises, with reverence)
    [shall be] like Trita approaching five envokers for assistance,
    so that by means of [that] wheel he would turn less important ones to furtherance [of important ones].



yáyā radʰráṃ pāráyatʰā́tyáṃho yáyā nidó muñcátʰa vanditā́ram |
arvā́cī sā́ maruto yā́ va ūtíró ṣú vāśréva sumatírjigātu || 15||

15. With what you rescue a willing one from anxiety,
    with what you free from imposed constraint the praiser,
    that is coming here, O Marut-s, which is a help to you!
    May [such] effective mental gesture come easily like a cow!

tváyā hitámápyamapsú bʰāgáṃ dʰánvā́nvā́ mṛgayáso ví tastʰuḥ |
vánāni víbʰyo nákirasya tā́ni vratā́ devásya savitúrminanti || 7||











yādrādʰyàṃ varuṇo yónimápyamániśitaṃ nimíṣi járbʰurāṇaḥ |
víśvo mārtāṇḍó vrajámā́ paśúrgātstʰaśó jánmāni savitā́ vyā́kaḥ || 8||











ná yásyéndro váruṇo ná mitró vratámaryamā́ ná minánti rudráḥ |
nā́rātayastámidáṃ svastí huvé deváṃ savitā́raṃ námobʰiḥ || 9||











bʰágaṃ dʰíyaṃ vājáyantaḥ púraṃdʰiṃ nárāśáṃso gnā́spátirno avyāḥ |
āyé vāmásya saṃgatʰé rayīṇā́ṃ priyā́ devásya savitúḥ syāma || 10||











asmábʰyaṃ táddivó adbʰyáḥ pṛtʰivyā́stváyā dattáṃ kā́myaṃ rā́dʰa ā́ gāt |

2.  They delighted in these two emerging deva-s,
    ``let these two hide unsatisfactory [mental] obscurations!''
    With these two, with Soma and Pūṣan, Indra shall beget 
    ripe [for poetry] [vital spirit¹] midst appearing at dawn crude [evocative expressions²].

3.  O Soma and Pūṣan, the chariot 
    that is regulating the region [of thoughts], [that] has seven wheels, [that is] going both ways,
    [that though] not-all-invigorating, [yet] being made fit for the mind --- 
    that one, O bulls, do urge on, the one having five reins!



divyànyáḥ sádanaṃ cakrá uccā́ pṛtʰivyā́manyó ádʰyantárikṣe |
tā́vasmábʰyaṃ puruvā́raṃ purukṣúṃ rāyáspóṣaṃ ví ṣyatāṃ nā́bʰimasmé || 4||

4.  One has made seat in the Heaven, on high;
    the other above the Earth, in the middle region;
    [May] the two [convey³] for us the abundance of wealth that is adored by many [and] liberally granting;
    May [these] two free the center [of nectar]!
